Frankenstein- the creation of Monster

If we look at the background when shelley wrote this book, we can always find the elements of Romanticism everywhere. Loving nature, as one character of Romanticism, is shown when the book mentioned  Frankenstein was interested in nature when he was a little boy. The passion on the nature had opened the door to the creation of monster and it finally lead him to endless pain. After Frankenstein saw the tree reduced to thin ribbons of wood, he was shocked by the power of nature. On the other hand, romanticism also try to make strong art effect, unique person character. Frankenstein was obviously different from other people. He was into different theories that had been exploded. Independent thinking is also be expressed by the character of frankenstein.
Romanticism also emphasis the contrast between beauty and ugly. He took the best part of different dead body and wanted to give life to a beautiful creation. When it was brought in alive, Frankesnstein started to hate the creature because it was ugly. So the contrast stood out.

  1. Good job on both. Try to add a few specific citations for more depth.
